requests for contributions
The Future of Text Vol 6 aims is to provide a connected, richly interactive ‘knowledge object’ that documents the current thinking about text in relation to our current use of technology.
With this as our goal, we ask the following of you to provide the data to make your article come alive, whether for your own authoring in XR or separately, so that we may build the XR experience on your behalf:
- The expectation is 500-2500 words.
- Please provide an abstract of no more than 50 words.
- Citations are encouraged and will be converted from your preferred style. You may include extra information here, such as link types, also to help us experiment.
- Because we are publishing this volume not only in traditional forms, but also in XR, we would encourage you to consider citing from previous volumes of The Future of Text.
- Images, including graphs and charts, need to be in in high resolution format so that they may be viewed large in XR. 3D objects are of course also welcomed, preferable as glTF.
- Contributions will need to be in Apple ‘Pages’, Microsoft ‘Word’ or our own ‘Author’ format for rich text, or in plain text. Supplemental data in JSON will also be looked at, both for the XR experience of the book and for inclusion in the traditional book.
- If you are a macOS user and would like to contribute the book specifically for XR, you may want to have a look at our word processor ‘Author’, which exports to JSON for XR for this project.
Deadline is 20th of November.
